Annual Riverview Holiday House Walk

The Riverview Historic District will host our annual Holiday Housewalk on December 8, 2024. In addition to five beautiful Riverview homes, tour the B. Harley Bradley House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Advance tickets: $20 per person

Advance tickets are available online or in person.

Online ticket will be available. Online sales will end on December 7. (Avoid service fees by purchasing in person at one of the locations above.)

Day-of-tickets may only be purchased at the door: $25 per person

The tour begins at the Railroad Depot in Downtown Kankakee, 197 South East Avenue. Kankakee, IL 60901.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Where do I pick up my brochure/ticket?
A: At the Railroad Depot in Downtown Kankakee, 197 South East Avenue. Kankakee, IL 60901. (In previous years, pickup has been at the Railroad Trolley Museum. This year pickup will be inside the Depot itself.)

Q: Can I take pictures?
A: While we are excited to share the beautiful homes with you, we do not allow interior photography within any homes. Exterior photos from the front sidewalk are allowed. Please at all times respect the privacy of the home owners.

Q: Does my child need a ticket?
A: If your child walks, they will need to purchase a ticket. And please, no strollers.

Q: If I purchase in advance, do I still need to go to registration? 
A: Yes, everyone must first come to the Trolley Barn to exchange their tickets for a tour brochure or physical ticket.

Q: Are tickets refundable?
A: No, we do not have a policy for refunding tickets. If the tour is cancelled completely due to unforeseen circumstances we will refund all tickets.

Q: Does the tour cancel if it rains?
A: No, the tour takes place rain or shine. The show must go on!

Q: How long does it take to see all the homes?
A: It will take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours to see all the homes on the tour. Several factors contribute to how quickly you will move through the tour, including longer lines at some homes, the time of the day, and the size of the homes on the tour.

Q: Do I have to follow a certain order when views the homes?
A: No, you do not need to follow a particular order when viewing the homes.

Q: Can I go back through a home more than once?
A: No, unfortunately once you have toured a home it is not possible to go back through the home without purchasing another ticket.

Q: Why are the second floors not open for all the homes on the tour?
A: Logistically in some homes it become a traffic issue, moving people up and down the same narrow staircase can cause a bottleneck. Other times it is the homeowner’s preference not to have it shown.

Q: Why do I need to use shoe covers?
A: We request that everyone on the tour wear shoe covers while in each home to protect this historic wood floors and carpeting. Shoe covers are provided for you.

Q: Are restrooms available along the tour?
A: The homes on the tour do NOT have restrooms open to the public. There is a restroom at the Trolley Barn and at the Bradley House.
